Admirals Sign Winger Janick Asselin

NORFOLK, Va. - The Norfolk Admirals announce today that the ECHL club has signed forward Janick Asselin to a standard players contract.

Asselin, 22, turns pro following a two-year career at Clarkson University where he appeared in 40 games and scored four goals and 12 assists. The native of Coaticook, QC is a 5-foot-6, 161-pound winger that played four seasons with the Sherbrooke College Champlain Cougars in the Quebec Junior Hockey League from 2010-14, posting 123 goals and 145 helpers for 268 points in 186 career games. Asselin participated in the league's All-Star Game in 2010-11 and logged the best face-off percentage in his first season.

The Admirals begin a string of three games tonight, Wednesday, Jan. 6, at Scope when they face the Orlando Solar Bears at 7:15 p.m. Tickets are available at the Scope Box Office, ticketmaster.com, and charge-by-phone at 1-800-745-3000.
