Colorado's Daavettila Named CCM ECHL Player of the Month

PRINCETON, N.J. - Colorado Eagles' forward Trent Daavettila has been named the CCM ECHL?Player of the Month for December. It is the fourth time in his career that he has received the monthly honor, tying him for the most in?ECHL?history.

Daavettila scored nine goals, added eight assists and was a +5 in 12 games during the month.

The 31-year-old recorded at least one point in eight of 12 games, including five multi-point games. Daavettila scored a goal and had two assists in a 6-4 loss at Alaska on?Dec. 4 and in a 4-3 victory over Rapid City on Dec. 26 while notching three assists in a 4-0 win against Wichita on Dec. 12.

A?native of Howell, Mich., Daavettila is second in the ECHL with 35 points (14g-21a) in 33 games.

Daavettila has tallied 440 points (140g-300a) in 413 career ECHL games with Colorado and Kalamazoo. He ranks eighth all-time in ECHL?postseason history with 48 assists and is tied for 12th all-time with 68 postseason points. He has twice been named to the All-ECHL?Second Team - in 2010-11 with Kalamazoo and in 2013-14 with Colorado. Daavettila has added seven points (2g-5a) in 22 career American Hockey League games with Lake Erie, Chicago,?St. John's, Grand Rapids and Adirondack.
