
Goaltender Stephon Williams Assigned to Missouri from Bridgeport

INDEPENDENCE, MO - The Missouri Mavericks announced Wednesday afternoon that goaltender Stephon Williams has been assigned to Mavs from the Bridgeport Sound Tigers-Missouri's American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate. Defenseman Loic Leduc has been recalled to the Sound Tigers.

Williams signed a two-year entry level contract with the New York Islanders (NHL) on Apr. 2, 2015. He was selected in the fourth round (106th overall) by the Islanders in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft. The Fairbanks, AK native played three seasons with Minnesota State University Mankato (NCAA) prior to the start of his pro career with the Sound Tigers during the 2014-15 season.
His last season with the Minnesota State Mavericks (Western Collegiate Hockey Assoc), Williams earned a record of 25-6-3 and helped lead the team to a second straight conference championship.
The twenty-two year old net-minder owns a 2.82 goals-against average (GAA) and a .902 save percentage (SV%) through 15 games played with Bridgeport this season.
Defenseman Loic Leduc was assigned to the Mavericks last week from the Sound Tigers, he has been recalled from loan after playing 4 games with Missouri since Dec. 31st.
The Mavericks play their next 5 games on the road before they return home to Silverstein Eye Centers Arena on Friday, Jan. 22nd when they host the Tulsa Oilers in back-to-back games on Friday and Saturday. Tickets are available online at TicketMaster.com and in-person at the arena box office.
