Norfolk Admirals News Release

NORFOLK, VA - In two East Division match ups this past weekend, the Admirals were unable to overcome early deficits, as they dropped a pair of 3-2 decisions. On Friday, October 14th, Norfolk fired 38 shots on net, but could not get the tying goal across as they fell to the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins. The next night, the Admirals made their first road trip of the year to Hershey. After the Bears jumped out to a 3-0 lead, Jim Henkel and Martin St. Pierre notched second period tallies to pull Norfolk to within one. But those would be the final goals of the night as Hershey held on to win the contest.

The Admirals return home to face the defending Calder Cup Champion Philadelphia Phantoms (Philadelphia Flyers) on Friday and Saturday at Scope at 7:15 p.m. each night.

STANDINGS At 1-3-0-0 (2 pts), Norfolk is currently fifth in the East. The division is led by Wilkes-Barre/Scranton (4-0-0-0, 8 pts) with Hershey (2-1-0-1, 5 pts) and Bridgeport (2-1-1-0, 5 pts) tied for second and Philadelphia (2-1-0-0, 4 pts) in fourth. Binghamton (0-1-1-0, 1pt) sits in sixth place.
