Hartford Wolf Pack News Release

Glens Falls, NY - Cal Heeter stopped all 24 shots he faced, and Tye McGinn's early first-period goal stood up as the game-winner, Friday night at the Glens Falls Civic Center, as the Adirondack Phantoms defeated the Hartford Wolf Pack, 3-0.

Brandon Alderson also scored for the Phantoms, and Chris VandeVelde added an empty-netter. Jason Missiaen made 25 saves for the Wolf Pack, who fell to 9-11-0-2 on the year and into a fourth-place tie in the Northeast Division with Bridgeport.

"I thought the guys played hard," Wolf Pack assistant coach Pat Boller said. "Just a couple of bad breaks, and turned a couple of pucks over late, but we had our chances and just couldn't put any home."

The Wolf Pack outshot the Phantoms 9-7 in the first period, but the only goal of the session came on Adirondack's first shot of the game. Former Wolf Pack Kris Newbury sent McGinn into the Wolf Pack zone down left wing, and McGinn's shot from just above the faceoff dot beat Missiaen on the stick side.

Both Heeter and Missiaen were perfect in the second period, with Adirondack outshooting the Wolf Pack 10-9, and it stayed 1-0 until the Phantoms scored a power-play goal at 8:07 of the third.

With Brendon Nash in the penalty box for cross-checking, Alderson fired a shot from just inside the left point that hit Missiaen's right side and slid just over the goal line.

VandeVelde's open-net goal then iced the game at 18:31, with VandeVelde jumping on a loose puck along the left-wing boards after Danny Syvret just missed keeping it in the Adirondack zone at the other end.

The Wolf Pack's next game is Saturday night, when they visit the Springfield Falcons. Faceoff is 8:00 PM, and all the action can be heard live on Fox Sports Radio 1410, and on-line at www.foxsportsradio1410.com and iHeartRadio. Video streaming is available at www.ahllive.com.
