
Admirals Add Forward Chad Painchaud to PTO

NORFOLK, VA -- The Norfolk Admirals announced Friday that the team signed right winger Chad Painchaud to a Professional Tryout Contract (PTO).
Painchaud, 27, joins the Admirals having registered 24 points (9g, 15a) in 19 games played this season with the South Carolina Stingrays of the ECHL. Last season, the 6-1, 184-poundwinger collected 56 points (20g, 36a) in 46 games played with the Wichita Thunder of the Central Hockey League. Painchaud helped lead the Thunder to a President's Cup Finals appearance posting 13 points (4g, 9a) in 15 playoff games.
The Mississauga, Ontario native has logged nine points (4g, 5a) in 40 career American Hockey League games split between Chicago (2007-08), Iowa (2008-09), and Manitoba (2009-10). In total, Painchaud has amassed 374 career points (153g, 221a) in 411 professional games, which includes a career best 68-point and 30-goal season with Victoria (ECHL) in 2009-10. Painchaud is a 2004 fourth-round draft selection of the Atlanta Thrashers.
Tonight Norfolk opens up a two-game set at Syracuse which concludes on Saturday.
