The Durham Bulls (59-77) erased a 3-1 deficit with six runs over a two-inning span and beat the Gwinnett Braves (61-74) by a 10-6 score on Sunday night in the finale of the three-game series at Durham Bulls Athletic Park.

The loss, combined with Charlotte's 14-4 win over Norfolk, moved the G-Braves into second in the International League South Division, a half-game behind the Knights.

Durham took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning on an RBI single by Richie Shaffer off Gwinnett starting pitcher Wilfredo Boscan.

The Bulls tied the game in the bottom of the third. Curt Casali led off with a single and moved to third on a double off the wall in left by Shaffer. Both then scored on a single to center by J.P. Arencibia to make it 3-3.

An inning later, Durham took the lead for good. Dayron Varona led off the bottom of the fourth with a solo homer to left-center off Boscan for a 4-3 lead. Following a single by Johnny Field, the G-Braves opted for Bradley Roney out of the bullpen. After hitting Casali with a pitch, Roney gave up a three-run homer to center field to Casey Gillaspie to move the Durham lead to 7-3.

Gwinnett cut into the lead with a run in the top of the fifth as Blake Lalli's sacrifice fly to left scored Mustelier to make it 7-4.

However, Gwinnett reliever Kanekoa Texeira gave up three runs in the bottom of the sixth as the deficit increased to 10-4.

The final runs of the game came in the top of the ninth, as Tyler Moore blasted a long two-run homer to left. Moore's third clout of the season was the G-Braves' 14th home run in their last 11 games.
