67's Come up Short in Kingston
February 21, 2022 - Ontario Hockey League (OHL)
Ottawa 67's News Release
In their second visit to Kingston in four days, the Ottawa 67's were again dealt a tough road loss, falling 7-1 to the Frontenacs in a Family Day contest.
Tyler Boucher scored the lone goal for Ottawa, the first of his OHL career, but that would be the extent of the Barber Poles' offensive output, this afternoon.
The Fronts opened the game with four unanswered goals. Jake Murray kicked things off just 1:57 in, before Zayde Wisdom made it 2-0, and Murray added another with 1:58 to play in the first. Francesco Arcuri scored 37 seconds later, sending Ottawa to the second period, down 4-0.
On a powerplay 4:50 in, Jack Beck slid the puck to Thomas Sirman at the point, and his shot was deflected home by Boucher, for the Ottawa Senators prospect's first in the OHL, getting the 67's on the board. It held up as the only marker of the second, as Brady Stonehouse appeared to have another, shorthanded, but the play was blown dead, despite the puck being loose.
Down 4-1 going into the third, things didn't improve for the Barber Poles, with Lucas Edmonds, Jordan Frasca, and Mitchell Brooks each finding the back of the net for Kingston, sending Ottawa home with a 7-1 defeat.
Game Notes:
Tyler Boucher is the 13th member of the 67's to score his first OHL goal this season.
Boucher is also the fourth-fastest Barber Pole that debuted this season to score the first of his career.
Jack Beck now has three points in his last two games. He also led the 67's with five shots on goal.
Thomas Sirman has six points in his last 10 games.
Up Next: The 67's return home, Wednesday, to host these same Frontenacs. Puck drop is set for 7:00pm ET.
