Midwest Rivals Pack the Week as Attack Look to Get Back on Winning Track
February 21, 2022 - Ontario Hockey League (OHL) - Owen Sound Attack News Release
To say that the Owen Sound Attack have had a rough month of February, would be an understatement. After starting the month 2-1, with a pair of big wins over the Guelph Storm pulled Owen Sound even with their Midwest rivals for 5th in the conference, the Attack have since dropped 6 straight games, and now sit closer to 9th place than the do 5th.
The Attack will hope that another visit to Guelph will help turn their fortunes around, as the rivals clash Monday afternoon for a Family Day matinee affair. The game will available for free viewing on CHL TV and Rogers TV Grey County, as both the Attack and Storm try to get some positives going in the final week of the month.
It's then a very familiar, and haunting, foe Wednesday night, as Owen Sound entertains the London Knights at the Bayshore. London has taken all 7 decisions so far this year, with the latest game being an 8-3 thumping just two weeks ago. The current losing skid starting with that game, so maybe fortunes will turn and the Attack can not only end the streak against the team that it started with, but also claim their first victory of the season over the Knights.
Owen Sound will round out the week with a classic Friday - Saturday doubleheader games. First the Attack travel to Kitchener for their third meeting with the Rangers in as many weeks. Last time these teams met the Attack a comfortable lead over the Rangers in the standings, but that has since dwindled away to just a two point gap. Fans can expect a tight game between these two Midwest rivals, as they have split the season series to this point, each capturing three wins.
Owen Sound rounds out the week, welcoming the Storm to the Bayshore Saturday. Not only will the game Saturday be intense as the teams jostle for playoff positioning, but it also marks the Woolley's Warriors charity night. The Attack will be wearing special designed Woolley's Warriors jerseys for the game, with all jerseys being auctioned and proceeds going to Diabetes Canada. Fans can find out more information regarding this game night with a special article coming out later in the week.
The Weekend Preview is presented by Joe Tomatoes, located in the Galaxy Plaza on the Sunset Strip, Owen Sound.
