2009-10 CHL Season Schedule Released
August 6, 2009 - Central Hockey League (CHL)
Colorado Eagles News Release
WINDSOR, Colo. - The Central Hockey League released today the 2009-10 regular season schedule. The season will kick off with a President's Cup Final rematch between the Colorado Eagles and the Texas Brahmas at the Budweiser Events Center on Friday, October 16 and Saturday, October 17.
For the Governors' Cup champion Eagles, the 2009-10 schedule provides plenty of balance as 12 of the CHL's 14 other teams will travel to Loveland (Corpus Christi and Rio Grande Valley are the two exceptions; Colorado will play Rio Grande Valley on the road). Also, exactly half of their games prior to and after the midseason All-Star break will be at home. Moreover, just over half (35) of Colorado's 64 games will be played against Northern Conference opponents.
The league's loss of the Broomfield-based Rage and New Mexico-based Scorpions for the season will impact the Eagles in several ways, with maybe the biggest resulting in shorter homestands. Colorado's longest streak of home games -- just five games -- will take place upon the season's launch. On the other hand, they will have two road trips consisting of seven-games throughout the season.
All Eagles home games will be played at the Budweiser Events Center and every one except their game on February 14 will start at 7:05 p.m.; the Valentine's Day game will begin at 3:05 p.m.
Further details about a preseason game and the Eagles' annual Military Appreciation game in mid-November will be announced at a later date.
