Mudbugs Announce 09-10 Schedule

BOSSIER CITY, LA - The Central Hockey League has officially released the 64-game schedules of all 15 member teams for the 2009-2010 regular season, the league announced today. The season will begin on Friday, October 16 and run through Saturday, March 20, 2010 with a total of 480 games.
The Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs will open the season at home for the second consecutive year, facing off against the Southern Conference rival Laredo Bucks at 7:05 pm on Friday, October 16 at the CenturyTel Center. The âBugs play at home on the first three Friday nights of the season, following up the Laredo game with their first ever contest against the expansion Allen Americans on October 23 and then battling the rival Texas Brahmas on the 30th.
For the first time in the past seven years, the Mudbugs will host every other team in the CHL at least once in their 32 home dates at CenturyTel Center in 2009-2010. In addition to their five meetings with expansion Allen, the âBugs will also face the expansion Missouri Mavericks five times throughout the season. The Mavericks will first appear in Bossier City on Saturday, November 28.
Then on December 4, Bossier-Shreveport will face Amarillo for the first time in four years when the Gorillas come to town on a Friday night. The Arizona Sundogs will venture east for just their second-ever appearance in Bossier City on December 1, while the defending Northern Conference Champion Colorado Eagles make their only visit Bossier City on Saturday, January 30.
The Mudbugs' longest homestand of the year will come between January 26 and February 6, when they play five straight at the CTC. Their longest road stretch will also span five games, from January 5-16.
Bossier-Shreveport will face the rival Mississippi RiverKings more than any other team again in 2009-10, totaling 10 meetings against the âKings. The âBugs will also face Texas eight times, Corpus Christi six times and Tulsa six times.
