August 6, 2009 - Central Hockey League (CHL)
Arizona Sundogs News Release

PRESCOTT VALLEY, Ariz. - The Arizona Sundogs, in conjunction with the Central Hockey League, today released their complete schedule for the upcoming 2009-10 season. The Sundogs will play a 64-game regular season schedule with 32 home dates to be played at Tim's Toyota Center in Prescott Valley.

"While the 2009-10 schedule is not without its challenges, we believe we will have a successful campaign and would like to thank the Central Hockey League and its staff for their efforts in working to fulfill the majority of our requests throughout the scheduling process," said Sundogs Head Coach and General Manager Marco Pietroniro.

The Sundogs will begin the 2009-10 campaign at home at Tim's Toyota Center on Friday, Oct. 16 and Saturday, Oct. 17 against the expansion Allen Americans. Both games are slated for 7:05pm starts (Arizona time).

"In working with the league to create the 2009-10 schedule, one of our requests was that we open and close the upcoming season at home in front of our fans," added Pietroniro. "We also worked to secure as many weekend dates as possible. Of our 32 scheduled home games, Sundogs fans will enjoy 21 that take place on either Fridays or Saturdays."

In addition to their opening weekend series against the Americans, Arizona will see Texas' newest franchise on Thursday, Nov. 19 and Monday, Jan. 18 at the Allen Event Center before back-to-back home games at Tim's Toyota Center in late-February to close out the regular season series. The Sundogs will also see first-year club the Missouri Mavericks for a two-game set at the Independence Events Center on Friday, Jan. 8 and Saturday, Jan. 9.

Arizona will also see a team during the 2009-10 season it has yet to face in three years of existence in the CHL in the Tulsa Oilers on Sunday, Dec. 13 at the BOK Center.

The Sundogs will again play host to a New Year's Eve game at Tim's Toyota Center, a tradition carried out since the club's first season in the league, as the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees visit Prescott Valley on Thursday, Dec. 31. Game time is set for 7:35pm (Arizona time).

Arizona will play a five-game home stand from Nov. 4-14, their longest of the season. The team's longest road stretch is a six-game trip from Dec. 1-13 that will take them through cities Bossier-Shreveport, Corpus Christi, Hidalgo (Rio Grande Valley), North Richland Hills (Texas), Amarillo and Tulsa.

The Sundogs will play an unbalanced schedule, meaning the team will face some clubs more than others, regardless if they're conference opponents or not. Arizona will face 13 CHL clubs during the 2009-10 season including Allen, Amarillo, Bossier-Shreveport, Colorado, Corpus Christi, Laredo, Missouri, Odessa, Rapid City, Rio Grande Valley, Texas, Tulsa and Wichita. The Mississippi RiverKings are the only team the Sundogs will not see during the regular season, a team they have yet to face in four seasons in the CHL.
