August 6, 2009 - Central Hockey League (CHL)
Fort Worth Brahmas News Release
NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, Texas (August 6)- In conjunction with the Central Hockey League (CHL), the 2009 CHL Champions, Texas Brahmas, have released their complete regular season schedule for the 2009-10 campaign.
The Brahmas will open their twelfth season on the road with a CHL Championship rematch facing the Colorado Eagles for back to back games, Friday, October 16 and Saturday, October 17. Before returning home Texas will make a quick trip to face Mississippi the following Friday before opening their season at home Saturday, October 24 against Mississippi once again for a 7:05 PM start.
The Brahmas will be contending in the Southern Conference for a second straight season and will be welcoming new rival, Allen Americans, to the league. The cross town rivalry will pick up nine times this season, five times at NYTEX. Texas will also be re-hatching their I-20 battle with the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs as they face one another eight times, with four visits from the crustaceous foes.
Fans will be able to enjoy a rematch of the 2009 CHL Finals as the Colorado Eagles come to town January 2. All home games will start at 7:05 PM (CST), excluding Sunday games which are set for 4:05 PM.
The 64-game schedule features a terrific number of home weekend dates (28 Friday, Saturday and Sunday games) and two dates surrounding the holidays (November 25 and December 30). The Brahmas will also host a Halloween game against the Allen Americans at NYTEX and offer fun festivities throughout the evening.
The Brahmas longest homestand is a five game span from November 29-December 11. The longest road trip will be a four game period from December 12-26. The road trip includes two games in Arizona.
Texas Brahmas General Manager Mike Barack is excited about the upcoming season with his team defending their title.
"We look forward to another exciting season, our first to defend the title," Barack said. "We also look forward to our home opener when we unveil our championship banners for the league championship as well as our division and conference titles".
