CHL, RiverKings To Release Schedule Today

(Southaven, MS) --- The Central Hockey League (CHL) has announced that its 2009-10 regular season schedule will be released today, Thursday, August 6th. The 480-game schedule begins on Friday, October 16th with seven games and concludes on Saturday, March 20th with seven games.
Current plans are to release the schedule this afternoon at 4:00 PM Central time. The complete RiverKings' schedule will be released in conjunction with the league release.
A total of 64 games will make up the RiverKings regular season schedule with 32 home games to be played at the DeSoto Civic Center in Southaven.
The CHL will be made up of 15 teams during the 2009-10 season with teams divided into two conferences (North and South). The two newest CHL teams will be the expansion Allen Americans and Missouri Mavericks. Both teams will begin play in early November with the Americans playing in the Allen Event Center and the Mavericks in the Independence Events Center, both new facilities.
The Northern Conference consists of the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs, Colorado Eagles, the RiverKings, Mavericks, Rapid City Rush, Tulsa Oilers and the Wichita Thunder.
The Southern Conference will be made up of the Ray Miron President Cup Champion Texas Brahmas along with the Americans, Amarillo Gorillas, Arizona Sundogs, Corpus Christi IceRays, Laredo Bucks, Odessa Jackalopes and the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees.
