Bucks announce 2009-10 schedule

LAREDO, TX- The Laredo Bucks, in conjunction with the Central Hockey League, announced Thursday their complete schedule for the 2009-10 season.

The Bucks will open their eighth season on October 16th on the road against longtime rival Bossier-Shreveport. The Bucks home opener is on Saturday, October 24th against the Allen Americans.

The Bucks will play 64 games in all, hosting 32 at the LEC, while playing 32 on the road.

Of the Bucks 32 home games, a total of 23 will be played on weekend days. Seven will be played on Friday's, 10 on Saturday's, and six on Sunday's.

The Bucks will also host two Tuesday games (one Kid's day), three Wednesday games and four Thursday games (one New Year's Eve) during the season.

Game times at the LEC will stay the same this season, with Monday thru Thursday games starting at 7:00pm, Friday and Saturday games starting at 7:30pm, and Sunday games will start at 4pm.

The Bucks will play 54 games against the Southern Conference, while playing 10 times against the Northern Conference.

Laredo will play every other CHL team except Mississippi this season.

The Bucks Southern Conference schedule looks like this: Laredo will play Allen five times (two home, three away), Amarillo three times (two home, one away), Arizona four times (one home, three away), Corpus Christi 14 times (eight home, six away), Odessa seven times (three home, four away), Rio Grande Valley 14 times (seven home, seven away), and Texas seven times (four home, three away).

Laredo's Northern Conference schedule will shape up like this; The Bucks will play Bossier-Shreveport two times (one home, one away), Colorado three times (one home, two away), Missouri two times (one home, one away), Rapid City one time (away), Tulsa one time (home), and Wichita one time (home).

Laredo's longest homestand of the campaign will come early, as they will play five straight games at the LEC from November 11th-27th. The Bucks longest road trip of the season will be four games, from December 12th-22nd.

The Bucks will play three-games in three nights eight times this season, one taking place in November, one in January, four in February, and two in March.

Laredo will spend two major holiday's at home this season, as they will host Bossier-Shreveport the day after Thanksgiving on November 27th, while after Christmas the Bucks will host Corpus Christi and Tulsa on December 26th-27th.

2009-10 Notable Home Games include, October 24th vs. Allen (home opener and first ever meeting against Americans), November 20th vs. Odessa (first meeting since last season's playoffs), November 21th vs. Texas (first meeting against '09 President's Cup Champions), November 27th vs. Bossier-Shreveport (only home meeting against rival Mudbugs), December 11th vs. Missouri (first ever meeting against Mavericks), December 26th vs. Corpus Christi (day after Christmas), December 31st vs. Corpus Christi (8th Annual New Year's Eve Extravaganza!), January 8th vs. Colorado (only home meeting against rival Eagles), February 9th vs. Corpus Christi (McDonald's Kid's Day Game, 11am start time), March 20th vs. Wichita (regular season finale).

2009-10 Notable Road Games include, October 16th at Bossier-Shreveport (season opener), December 4th at Odessa (first game at Odessa this season), December 12th at Allen (first ever game at Allen), December 22th at Missouri (first ever game at Missouri), January 23rd at Rapid City (first ever game at Rapid City), February 20th at Rio Grande Valley (1:05pm start time), February 25 at Allen (Kid's Day Game, 11:30am start time).

Laredo is still working on finalizing their pre-season schedule, but they expect to play either two or three games.
