August 6, 2009 - Central Hockey League (CHL)
Kansas City Mavericks News Release

INDEPENDENCE, Missouri - The Missouri Mavericks released their 2009-10 inaugural season Central Hockey League schedule on Thursday. The Mavericks will begin the regular season with nine road games prior to opening up the Independence Events Center on the weekend of November 13-14 vs. rival Wichita.

The Mavericks 32-game home schedule is highlighted by 20 Friday/Saturday prime dates, and a New Year's Eve home game against traditional power Colorado. Home games will faceoff at 7:05 p.m. other than the lone Sunday home game on March 7 at 3:05 p.m.

"We are pleased with the month-to-month balance of our schedule," said Mavericks' general manager Brent Thiessen. "The prime Friday and Saturday nights enable us to create a special family-friendly environment during our inaugural season. The release of our schedule is a major step in the reality that professional hockey is returning to the area."

The Mavs will host 12-of-14 possible CHL opponents, including three of its Northern Conference rivals five times each - Wichita, Tulsa, and Mississippi.
