Topeka Begins Assembling Roster Through Expansion and Dispersal Drafts

May 27, 2025 - This past week the Topeka Scarecrows of the Federal Prospects Hockey League have been hard at work assembling the outline of Topeka's new pro hockey team. After announcing Justin Schmit at the inaugural press conference, the last week saw 21 more additions made to the team. Multiple Time Champion and Ice Wars Winner Joins Topeka Hockey's Inaugural Season

May 5, 2025 - Today the Topeka Scarecrows of the Federal Prospects Hockey League are proud to announce they have signed Defenseman Justin Schmit as the first signing for the Scarecrows. Schmit, a 39-year-old defenseman from Strathmore,AB, joins the Scarecrows after a championship season with Granby in the LHSAAAQ. May 5, 2025 - Today Topeka Pro Hockey of the Federal Prospects Hockey League are proud to announce they have settled on a name. After a fan vote the selection was loud and clear that the Topeka Scarecrows will return for their inaugural season in the FPHL. After a two-week nomination period that saw a number of names come through the top five were settled on and put to a fan vote. Multi-Time Champion and NHL draftee Robbie Nichols Set To Lead Topeka Hockey's Inaugural Season

May 5, 2025 - Today the Topeka Scarecrows of the Federal Prospects Hockey League are proud to announce they have hired Head Coach Robbie Nichols to lead the team in their inaugural season. Nichols from Hamilton, ONT Canada, was originally drafted in 1984 by the Philadelphia Flyers before signing with the Detroit Red Wings in 1987.
