Schmit, a 39-year-old defenseman from Strathmore,AB, joins the Scarecrows after a championship season with Granby in the LHSAAAQ. After a fan vote the selection was loud and clear that the Topeka Scarecrows will return for their inaugural season in the FPHL. May 5, 2025 - Today the Topeka Scarecrows of the Federal Prospects Hockey League are proud to announce they have hired Head Coach Robbie Nichols to lead the team in their inaugural season. Nichols from Hamilton, ONT Canada, was originally drafted in 1984 by the Philadelphia Flyers before signing with the Detroit Red Wings in 1987.
