Scarecrows Promote Coach to GM/Coach and Hire Assistant GM

September 4, 2025 - Today the Topeka Scarecrows of the Federal Prospects Hockey League are proud to announce they have promoted Head Coach Robbie Nichols to General Manager and hired Assistant General Manager Marc Witt ahead of their inaugural season. Nichols from Hamilton, ONT Canada, was originally drafted in 1984 by the Philadelphia Flyers before signing with the Detroit Red Wings in 1987. August 28, 2025 - Today the Topeka Scarecrows of the Federal Prospects Hockey League are proud to announce they have signed Goaltender Brady Dyer ahead of the Scarecrows Inaugural Season. Dyer, a 21-year-old goaltender from Stoney Creek, ONT, joins the Scarecrows after a season in the GMHL where he backstopped the Northumberland Stars to the playoffs with a 17-10-0 record, a 3.67 goals against average and a .903 save percentage with 2 shutouts. August 23, 2025 - Today, the Topeka Scarecrows and the Athens Rock Lobsters of the Federal Prospects Hockey League have made a trade as Avery Smith and Future Considerations come to Topeka in Exchange for Christopher Mott going back to Athens. Smith, a 26-year-old forward from Trophy Club, TX, joins the Scarecrows after two seasons in the FPHL splitting time with Motor City and Athens. August 22, 2025 - Today, the Topeka Scarecrows and the Monroe Moccasins of the Federal Prospects Hockey League have made a trade as Thomas Murphy comes to Topeka in Exchange for Future Considerations going back to Monroe. Murphy, a 24-year-old forward from Kingston, ONT, joins the Scarecrows after a successful GMHL run. In 89 games in the GMHL Thomas posted 107 points and 220 penalty minutes.
