Division I Baseball Returns to Madison After 33 Year Absence

September 10, 2025 - The Mallards are proud to host the first NCAA Division I baseball contest in Madison in over 33 years as Illinois State University scrimmages the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee baseball team on Saturday, October 11th at 12:05 p.m. The last NCAA sanctioned D-I baseball game to occur in Madison took place on May 10th, 1991, followed by the University of Wisconsin-Madison disbanding its baseball program and leaving local fans without a Division I baseball program in the Madison area ever since. Former La Crosse Logger Nick Raquet Debuts with the Cardinals

September 10, 2025 - Rochester, Minn. - Former La Crosse Logger Nick Raquet made his Major League debut on Monday, September 8, 2025. Raquet is the 409th former Northwoods League player to reach the Major League level. He is also the 37th former player to debut this season which is a Northwoods League record. Raquet, who played collegiately at College of William and Mary, played for the Loggers in 2016. He was drafted in the 3rd round of the 2017 MLB draft by the Washington Nationals. 2016 Logger Nick Raquet Makes MLB Debut with Cardinals

September 9, 2025 - La Crosse, Wisc. - Just two days after 2018 Logger Christian Roa debuted with the Miami Marlins, a member of the 2016 La Crosse Loggers, Nick Raquet, debuted with the St. Louis Cardinals by tossing a scoreless inning. Raquet is the 34th former Logger to make it to the Major Leagues. Raquet was a workhorse for the Lumbermen during the summer of 2016, appearing in 12 games (10 starts), going 4-4 with a 2.23 ERA while striking out 62 batters in 64.2 innings pitched. September 9, 2025 - La Crosse, Wisc. - Former La Crosse Logger Christian Roa made his Major League debut on Saturday, September 6, 2025. Roa is the 33rd former Logger player to reach the Major League level and also the 36th former player to debut this season which is a Northwoods League record. Roa, who played collegiately at Texas A&M University, played for the Loggers in 2018. He was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2020 MLB draft by the Cincinnati Reds.
