February 10, 2026 - Wausau, WI. - Applications have opened for the Northwoods League Foundation 2026 Share the Glove Equipment Grant. The Wausau Woodchucks and Wausau Ignite Softball are excited to be offering a grant to an area team.
The Share the Glove Equipment Grant was introduced in 2018 as a part of the Northwoods League's 25th Season Celebration, with the mission of further inspiring a love for and participation in youth baseball and softball throughout communities.

December 1, 2025 - Rochester, Minn. - The Northwoods League is pleased to announce the recipients of the 2025 Rawlings Hitting Awards for both baseball and softball. This award is given to the player at each position who had the best batting average during the 2025 regular season.
Three Woodchucks took home hitting accolades this season with Max Soliz at catcher, Dom Rodriguez at first base, and Noah Malone in the outfield. The Ignite added two players of their own to the list in their inaugural season, with Riley Schwisow at second base ... Full Story

During the regular season, Thompson led the team to break many records, including team batting average, runs scored, and stolen bases. The 2025 season marks the third time Thompson has led the Woodchucks to the playoffs in his four seasons as their field manager.
