Wausau Ignite Announces Return of Assistant Coach Branson for 2026

March 5, 2026 - Wausau, WI - Wausau Ignite Softball is excited to announce another returner, this time to the coaching staff. Maclai Branson will be returning as an assistant coach, alongside head coach Jasmin Estrada for the 2026 season. Before coaching, Branson played collegiately at the University of Kentucky where she played as an infielder during the 2019 season, reaching an NCAA Regional and Super Regional appearance. Wausau Ignite Announces Johnson and Schwisow as First Returning Players for 2026

February 26, 2026 - Wausau, WI - Wausau Ignite Softball is thrilled to announce that Mia Johnson and Riley Schwisow will return to Wausau for the 2026 season. Both Johnson and Schwisow were selected for the Northwood League Home Run Challenge and were name Northwood League Softball Post-Season All Stars in 2025. Johnson led the Ignite and Northwoods League Softball with 47 RBIs last season, batting .323 through 124 at-bats. Inaugural Northwoods League Softball All-Star Game to be Hosted in Madison

December 6, 2025 - Rochester, Minn - The Northwoods League and The Madison Night Mares are proud to announce that the inaugural Northwoods League Softball All-Star Game will be held at Warner Park the weekend of July 11th, 2026. Northwoods League Softball will have six teams during the 2026 season. The All-Star teams will be composed of three teams each, members of the Madison Night Mares, La Crosse Steam, and the Wausau Ignite on one team, and players from the Grand Forks Spitfires, Mankato Habaneros, and the Minot Honeybees on the other. ... Three Woodchucks, Two Ignite Players Earn League-Wide Hitting Honors

December 1, 2025 - Rochester, Minn. - The Northwoods League is pleased to announce the recipients of the 2025 Rawlings Hitting Awards for both baseball and softball. This award is given to the player at each position who had the best batting average during the 2025 regular season. Three Woodchucks took home hitting accolades this season with Max Soliz at catcher, Dom Rodriguez at first base, and Noah Malone in the outfield.
