Johnson, Schwisow Named First NWLS All-Stars in Franchise History

August 4, 2025 - Wausau, WI - Following the Wausau Ignite's inaugural season in the Northwoods League, standout players Mia Johnson (UW-Parkside) and Riley Schwisow (Northwestern State) have been selected for the 2025 Post-Season All-Star Team. Wausau was one of three teams to have multiple players named to the All-Star team, as Schwisow was listed as the best second baseman in the league and Johnson earned her spot as a utility fielder. Wausau Drops Final Game of First Season, 8-6

August 1, 2025 - Wausau, WI - In the final game of the season, the Wausau Ignite fell to the La Crosse Steam on the road, 8-6. La Crosse took hold of the lead in the bottom of the second, as four hits and a pair of fielding errors helped bring across three runs. Wausau responded right away in the third, as Brooklyn Hofer (North Dakota) tripled to right and was brought home two batters later from a Molly Fitzgerald (Missouri S&T) single. Ignite Drop Final Home Game of Inaugural Season, 13-7

July 29, 2025 - Wausau, WI - On Tuesday night, the Wausau Ignite fell in a hard-fought battle with the Minot Honeybees, 13-7. Wausau left the first inning with a strong 3-1 lead, where they brought in two on a Mia Johnson (UW-Parkside) double and one with a Hannah Trzinski (Minnesota-Crookston) walk with the bases loaded. Minot Leaves Wausau Hitless in 6-1 Ignite Loss

July 28, 2025 - Wausau, WI - On Monday, the Wausau Ignite were defeated by the Minot Honeybees, 6-1. Minot's Jackie Albrecht threw a complete-game no-hitter, the first time Wausau has been held hitless in Franchise history. The Honeybees rattled off four runs in the first two frames to take the early lead, which the Ignite couldn't cut into until the fourth inning.
