Austin Spurs Select Jean Victor Nguidjol in First Round of 2015 NBA D-League Draft

AUSTIN, TX (Oct. 31, 2015) - The Austin Spurs, presented by SWBC, selected Jean Victor Nguidjol with the 16th pick in the first round of the 2015 NBA D-League Draft. Nguidjol is a 6-foot-10, 230-pound center and native of Yaounde, Cameroon. He most recently played for Lyceum of the Philippines University and has participated in the Luc Mbah a Moute Basketball Camp held in Cameroon.

"We're excited about the start of the upcoming season. We have a strong returning group, along with the addition of the affiliate and drafted players, so it should be a very competitive training camp at each position," said Austin Spurs Head Coach Ken McDonald.

In the second round, the Austin Spurs selected guard Demetri McCamey (6'3", 205, University of Illinois). In subsequent picks, the Austin Spurs selected guard Rodney Glasgow (5'10", 170, Virginia Military Institute), guard Ruben Guillandeaux (6'6", 200, La Salle University), center Mouhamadou Ndoye (7'0", 240, Texas A&M University-Commerce) and guard Musa Abdul-Aleem (6'5", 220, Troy University).

Additionally, the Austin Spurs announced the names of 11 returning and affiliate players also headed to training camp prior to the start of the 2015-16 NBA D-League season. The list includes Bryce Cotton, Jarell Eddie, Orlando Johnson, Mfon Udofia, Devondrick Walker and Keith Wright, who are all returning from the 2014-15 season, along with recent San Antonio Spurs training camp participants Youssou Ndoye, Keifer Sykes, Deshaun Thomas and Julian Washburn. Cady Lalanne, San Antonio's 2015 NBA second round draft pick, will also play with the Austin Spurs this season. Training camp is scheduled to begin Monday, Nov. 2, at the Cedar Park Recreation Center.
