Round Rock Express News Release

OKLAHOMA CITY, Oklahoma - The Round Rock Express could not find any rhythm in the series finale against Oklahoma City, losing 2-0. Round Rock starter Alex "Chi Chi" Gonzalez found himself on the losing end in his Triple-A debut, going 5.0 innings with 4 hits, 2 runs (2 earned), 2 walks and recording 3 strikeouts with a 3.60 ERA. His pitching counterpart, Dodger SP Mike Bolsinger, threw a gem with 6.0 shutout innings, 1 hit, 0 runs (0 earned), 2 walks and 9 strikeouts.

Both pitchers went toe-to-toe through the first four innings of play, allowing three combined hits to opposing batters. Bolsinger came out of the gate on a rampage, throwing seven of his nine strikeouts in the first four innings of play. Gonzalez did his best to answer with two strikeouts of his own through four. Gonzalez received help from his infield when SS Hanser Alberto recorded a 6-3 double play in the 3rd inning, but could not match the two double plays Bolsinger's infield produced.

Michael Choice struck the first hit of the game for Round Rock with a single to left field in the 4th inning, moving Thomas Field to second after he got on with a walk. Field and Choice both advanced on a wild pitch by Bolsinger, but could not be brought home after both CF Jared Hoying and DH Kyle Blanks struck out

Oklahoma City opened up the scoring in the 4th inning with SS Enrique Hernandez hitting a sacrifice fly to center that scored 2B Darnell Sweeney from third. Gonzalez halted the Dodgers momentum by grounding out the very next batter to get out of the fourth down 1-0. However, the Dodgers put Gonzalez in a bind during the fifth inning by loading the bases with one out. Chi Chi walked Dodgers C Brian Ward, bringing in a run from third to give the Dodgers a 2-0 lead. Gonzalez battled back to end the inning with his third strikeout of the game, fanning Dodger CF Chris Heisey.

Express LHP Alex Claudio made his second appearance of the year in the 6th inning to relieve Gonzalez and popped up Hernandez to begin the inning. Claudio later found himself with two Dodgers at first and second with two outs, but got Dodger RF Matt Carson to ground into a force out to end the inning. Claudio continued to grind into the 7th inning and caught Sweeney stealing with a pickoff attempt resulting in a running error. Claudio finished with 2.1 IP, 2 H, 0 R (0 ER), 1 BB, 1 K and a 0.00 ERA.

LHP Juan Perez entered in the bottom of the 8th inning for Round Rock and began his appearance striking out Heisey for out number one. Perez then got Hernandez to fly out to right before the inning filled with a bit more drama. Dodger DH Kyle Jensen reached on a throwing error by 3B Trever Adam with two outs and then advanced to second on a Tomas Telis passed ball. Perez then walked Oklahoma City 1B O'Koyea Dickson before getting LF Scott Schebler to strike out swinging to halt the Dodger threat.

Oklahoma City closer Josh Ravin came in to close the game and earned his first save of 2015 with two strikeouts and a fly out.

Round Rock 1B Ed Lucas extended his hit streak to four games with a single to left in the 8th inning, giving the E-Train its second hit of the game and Hanser Alberto's streak is now at three games with his single in the ninth.

The Express continue the first month of the new season on the road with a trip to Colorado Springs from 4/13-4/16. RHP Ross Wolf will get the start on Monday against Sky Sox RHP Tyler Cravy. Wolf had a brief appearance out of the bullpen on 4/10 at Oklahoma City, pitching 1.0 inning and giving up 3 H, 1 R (1 ER), 0 BB, and 0 K while facing five batters. Monday's first pitch is set for 7:35 p.m. CDT at Security Service Field in Colorado Springs.
