Eagles Topple Grizzlies 2-1

LOVELAND, Colo. - The Colorado Eagles (9-4-0-0), took the win over the Utah Grizzlies (6-6-1-2), 2-1, at the Budweiser Events Center on Saturday night.

At the 5:50 mark of the first period, Eagles defenseman Collin Bowman netted a power-play goal from the top of the circle to give Colorado the early 1-0 advantage. With just under four minutes left in the first, Eagles forward Darryl Bootland tipped a shot from defenseman Curtis Gedig past Grizzlies netminder Ryan Faragher to pump Colorado's lead, 2-0.

After a scoreless second period, Grizzlies forward Barry Almeida stuffed the puck home just under five minutes into the third stanza to cut into the Eagles lead to 2-1. Faragher allowed two goals on the 26 shots taken by the Eagles. Colorado netminder Doug Carr stopped 14 of the 15 shots from the Grizzlies to improve to 5-2 on the season.
