Rattlers out Hit the Snappers Picking up 5-2 Win

Beloit, WI- The Wisconsin Timber Rattlers out hit the Beloit Snappers Friday Night racking up 12 hits over Beloit's seven with the Rattlers picking up a 5-2 victory at Pohlman.

Ben McMahan scored on a fielder's choice by Cameron Garfield to get the Timber Rattlers on the board in the top of the first.

Two RBI doubles by Greg Hopkins and Mike Garza scored two more runs for the Timber Rattlers advancing their lead to 3-0 in the top of the fourth.

The Rattlers continued to pick up runs in the top of the fifth when Chadwin Stang scored on a double steal making it 4-0.

Taylor Rogers relieved starter, Tyler Jones in the top of the sixth. Jones worked five innings, allowing six hits and four runs, while striking out an impressive ten batters.

The Rattlers added another run in the top of the sixth when Garza scored on an RBI single by Ben McMahan giving them a 5-0 lead.

Miguel Sano ripped a solo home run in the bottom of the eighth, his league-leading 25th of the season, to put the Snappers on the board for their first run of the ballgame bringing the score to 5-1.

Tyler Cravy closed the game for the Timber Rattlers. Nate Roberts hit an RBI single scoring Matt Koch, who doubled starting the ninth inning rally, but that was the last run Beloit would pick up when Wang-Wei Lin grounded out to end the ballgame with the Timber Rattlers taking the win, 5-2.

The Snappers will now hit the road for Quad Cities to take on the River Bandits. They will return home next Wednesday to take on the Peoria Chiefs at 7:00 PM.
