
Captains Hold on for 5-3 Win

Lake County Captains News Release
(Dayton, OH) - The Lake County Captains (28-24, 59-62) defeated the Dayton Dragons (23-28, 53-68) by a final of 5-3. Bryson Myles started the scoring as he blasted his third homer of the season to Left Field and Lake County led the game 1-0 after two innings. Myles later knocked in a run in the top of the eighth inning to pad the Captains lead. It was 5-3 after eight innings and that was the final. With the win, manager David Wallace earned his 100th managerial victory.
In the seventh, Lake County added on. Leading 1-0, Lake County scored three runs. The big hit in the inning was a two run triple from Leonardo Castillo and the Captains led 3-0. Zach MacPhee followed with a double, which scored Castillo and Lake County led 4-0.
In the bottom of the seventh inning, Dayton scored three times. Three straight singles loaded the bases with no body out. Kyle Waldrop hit a fielder's choice, which plated a run and it was 4-1. Manny Carmona un-corked a wild pitch and the score was 4-2 Captains. The final run scored on an error by Leonardo Castillo and the score was 4-3 Captains after seven innings.
RHP Mason Radeke (6-6) started the ballgame for the Captains, and earned the win. Mason pitched six shutout innings of one hit baseball. Radeke walked just one and fanned six. Manny Carmona pitched two innings and allowed three runs, two of which were earned. Carmona yielded three hits, he hit one batter, threw one wild pitch and fanned one. Enosil Tejada picked up his fourth save of the season after pitching a scoreless ninth.
RHP Robert Stephenson (2-1) started the ballgame for Dayton, and took the loss. Stephenson twirled five innings allowing two hits, one earned run, three walks, and five strikeouts. Dan Jensen pitched one inning, he allowed two hits, three runs, two were earned, and he walked two. El'Hajj Muhammad pitched two innings and allowed two hits, one earned run, one walk and he struck out one. Mike Denhardt pitched a scoreless ninth inning for the Dragons.
The Captains will be wearing special jerseys on Saturday that were designed by Willoughby native Joshua McKinley, who was the runner-up of Season Nine of Project Runway, the hit reality TV show on Lifetime Television and hosted by supermodel Heidi Klum. The game-worn jerseys will be autographed by the Captains players and coaches and auctioned off with proceeds benefiting OutRun Ovarian Cancer (OROC) and Captains Charities.
Lake County will start a four game series with the Lansing Lugnuts. LHP Elvis Araujo (6-9, 5.21) will get the nod for Lake County. Lansing will counter with RHP Anthony DeSclafani (10-3, 2.91). First pitch is scheduled for 7:00 PM
