Peoria, IL - The Peoria Chiefs hit three solo home runs but a crucial error in the fifth inning helped the Burlington Bees complete a three-game sweep with a 5-4 win Friday night. The loss, their fifth in a row, drops the Chiefs at 19-34 in the second half and 54-68 overall.

Neither team scored in the first inning and the Chiefs jumped out to an early lead in the bottom of the second. After a visit from the trainer to pop his non-throwing shoulder back in, Bees starter Drew Granier surrendered a solo homer to Dustin Geiger to start the inning. The homer, Geiger's team-leading 15th of the season put the Chiefs on top 1-0.

The Chiefs stayed on top 1-0 as Starling Peralta settled in through the first four innings. In the top of the fifth the Bees tied the game with a solo homer from shortstop Sean Jamieson, his 10th of the season. The game didn't stay tied long as the longball helped Peoria regain the lead in the bottom of the fifth. Wes Darvill launched his third homerun of the season over the wall in right giving Peoria a 2-1 advantage.

The Bees fought back to gain the lead in the top of the sixth. Aaron Shipman walked to start the inning and moved to third on a single by Royce Consigli. A wild pitch by Peralta moved Consigli to second before Max Muncy walked to load the bases. Wade Kirkland grounded in to a force out for the first out of the inning. Rashun Dixon grounded to shortstop for a forceout scoring Consigli and as the Chiefs attempted to complete the double play an error by Darvill allowed Muncy to cross home giving the Bees a 3-2 lead.

The Chiefs knotted the score in the bottom half of the sixth. With David Mota on in relief for Granier, Chadd Krist delivered a homerun into the left field berm tying the score at 3-3. The homer was the third for Krist in a Chiefs uniform and the third Chiefs homer of the night.

The Bees regained their lead in the top of the seventh against Austin Reed. Bobby Crocker doubled and Michael Fabiaschi was hit by a pitch before both runners moved in to scoring position on a sacrifice bunt by John Nester. Shipman singled to right scoring both runners and putting the Bees on top, 5-3.

Peoria cut in to the lead in the bottom of the seventh. With one out, Tim Saunders smacked a triple to right and scored on a wild-pitch by Seth Frankoff cutting the deficit to 5-4. Geiger walked to put the tying run on base but on a pitch in the dirt the Bees catcher picked Geiger off first base. Frankoff struck out Jorge Soler to end the inning with the Chiefs down 5-4.

Peralta allowed three runs, two earned, on five hits and a pair of walks while striking out eight over six innings in a no-decision. Reed (4-7) allowed two runs on a pair of hits and a walk in an inning of relief. Bryce Shafer allowed two hits and a walk while striking out three over two scoreless innings.

Casey's General Store Player of the Game - Chadd Krist (DH) - The 2012 draftee added his ninth multi-hit game of the season as a Chief Friday night going 2-for-3 with a home run and a double. The home run gives Krist three on the season and both of his hits went for extra bases.
