FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The Fort Wayne TinCaps, along with Parkview Comprehensive Cancer Center, invite fans to the Lincoln Financial Events Center at Parkview Field on August 21st and 22nd for special health screenings, free of charge. As a part of the event, TinCaps players will wear blue ribbon jerseys that will be auctioned off to raise money for prostate cancer research.

On Tuesday, August 21, men with tickets to that night's game are eligible to be tested for prostate-specific antigens (PSA), in addition to screenings for blood sugar, blood pressure, osteoporosis, height, weight and body mass index. The screenings on Wednesday, August 22, are open to the public from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., also at the Lincoln Financial Events center. Testing will include skin, blood sugar, blood pressure, osteoporosis, height, weight and body mass index.

"Our relationship with Parkview Health has always featured the health and wellness of our fans as a focal point," said TinCaps Vice President of Marketing Michael Limmer. "From the fresh food options at Parkview Field to free screenings for fans of all ages, the TinCaps and Parkview Health strive to help maintain a healthy community. Additionally, wearing the blue jerseys, which will be auctioned off, is a way in which the TinCaps are proud to help support the fight against prostate cancer."

Both dates will include educational opportunities on topics such as urology, sleep apnea, stroke, cancer and senior care.

The two-day event will also feature demos of the da Vinci Robotic Surgical System. The da Vinci robot is a less invasive surgical technology that offers smaller incisions, less pain and faster recovery for prostate patients. Surgeons from Parkview Physicians Group will be on hand to perform demonstrations, and the public is invited to test their skills by performing mock procedures with the da Vinci robot.
