Greenville Drive News Release
Greenville, SC - The Augusta GreenJackets' loss has become the Greenville Drive's gain. The Drive announced today that a very special game for the team's "Let's Hit 350" campaign will be part of the first ever day/night doubleheader at Fluor Field. First pitch for game one is scheduled for 1:05 PM, while the nightcap is set to begin at 7:05 PM as originally scheduled.
As a thank you to the Upstate Community for the tremendous support they've shown during the Drive's season-long "Let's Hit 350" campaign, the Drive announced a special price of only $3.50 for ALL tickets to the 1:05 PM game on Tuesday, August 21st. Fans will need a separate ticket for the originally scheduled 7:05 game and both games will be seven-inning affairs.
In addition to the special ticket pricing for the 1:05pm game, the Drive will also be providing fans with several unique "Lets Hit 350" offers throughout the game. The first 350 fans that enter the ballpark will receive a complimentary picnic lunch in the Paladin Picnic Plateau. And ALL fans who attend the game will be able to enjoy a special value meal at the Splendid Splinter and 7th Inning Stretch concession areas, consisting of a hot dog, soft pretzel, and 12 ounce Pepsi product for only $3.50!
Drive Co-Owner and President, Craig Brown, commented on the doubleheader, saying, "A very unique opportunity has presented itself, in which we are able to offer Drive fans an additional game during the 2012 season. This game will provide added momentum to our 'Let's Hit 350' campaign by helping to make up for the two games that we lost to rain earlier in the season. The special price of only $3.50 for all of our popular Box Seats, Reserved Seats, and Terrace Reserved Seats is also one way that the Drive is able to say 'thank you' to the Community and our fans for their great support-for this season and for all Drive seasons."
Brown added, "August 21st is also the final day before students return to classes in Greenville County Schools, giving youngsters and their parents across the Upstate an unexpected opportunity to enjoy one final day of Summer at Fluor Field with the Drive."
The day/night doubleheader at Fluor Field stems from the postponement of the regularly scheduled match-up between the Drive and Augusta GreenJackets on July 12th, at Lake Olmsted Stadium. Since the upcoming series is the final time the Drive and San Francisco Giants affiliate meet in 2012, the game must be played in Downtown Greenville.
"We find it fitting that our goal of 350,000 fans for the 2012 season is within our grasp, and playing this special game that will move us that much closer to this most important goal that we set in the Spring" added Drive General Manager Mike deMaine. "To place extra emphasis on our 'Let's Hit 350' campaign, we have created a one-of-kind price tag on our already affordable ticket prices and have designed the fan experience for this game to have several "Lets Hit 350" surprises.
Following game one at 1:05 PM, Fluor Field will be cleared for preparation for that evening's regularly scheduled contest. The 7:05 PM game will be a celebration of the Spartanburg community, recognizing many of the "Sparkle City's" dignitaries and accomplishments.
Tickets for either game of the doubleheader, and all remaining Drive home games this season, can be purchased by logging onto GreenvilleDrive.com, by calling (864) 240-4528, or visiting the Fluor Field Box Office.
