- Practice 1:15 to 2:30 p.m. Centennial Arenas.

-Practice 12:45 to 2:00 p.m. Pengrowth Saddledome.

Thursday, March 18th

- HOME GAME vs. Moose Jaw Warriors. Game time 7:00 p.m. Pengrowth Saddledome. Calgary finished the regular season at 52-17-1-2 while Moose Jaw was 33-27-5-7. It's Game 1 of their Best-of-Seven Eastern Conference Quarter-Final Series. The Hitmen were 2-2 against Moose Jaw this season. Radio Broadcast begins at 6:00 p.m. from Dutton's Lounge with a one hour pre-game show on The Fan 960.

Friday, March 19th

- Practice 12:45 to 1:45 p.m. Pengrowth Saddledome.

Saturday, March 20th

CALGARY HITMEN NEWS AND NOTES

HITMEN HEADLINES: The Calgary Hitmen wrapped up the 2009/10 Western Hockey League Regular Season Sunday afternoon at home with an 8-1 win over the Red Deer Rebels. The win was their ninth straight. Brandon Kozun led the way with four assists while Joel Broda and Kris Foucault each scored twice. Michael Stone, Ben Wilson, Del Cowan and Justin Kirsch all added singles. Michael Snider made 22 saves to record the win in goal as the Hitmen outshot the Rebels 26-23. The Hitmen finished the regular season with a record of 52-17-1-2. At 107 points they captured the Scotty Munro Memorial Trophy as WHL Regular Season Points Champions for the second year in a row and fourth time in franchise history (2009/10, 2008/09, 1999/2000 and 1998/99). To close the season the Hitmen picked up at least a point in 24 of their last 26 games going 23-2-0-1.

VS MOOSE JAW: The Hitmen and Warriors met four times in the regular season with each team winning twice.

Oct. 4 in Calgary: Warriors 4 Hitmen 3. Moose Jaw overcame a 3-1 third period deficit.

Oct. 10 in Moose Jaw: Warriors 6 Hitmen 3. Jason Bast 3g 1a.

Nov. 18 in Moose Jaw; Hitmen 2 Warriors 1 OT. Michael Stone scored the overtime winner while Martin Jones made 25 saves.

Jan. 22 in Calgary; Hitmen 5 Warriors 0. Martin Jones 23 save shutout. Joel Broda with a natural hat trick.

PLAYOFF DATES: The Calgary / Moose Jaw Best-of-Seven Eastern Conference Quarter-Final Series is a 2-2-1-1-1 format with Calgary having home ice advantage. This will mark the fourth time in playoff history the Hitmen and Warriors will meet. In 2000 Calgary swept Moose Jaw in the opening round. In 2006 the Warriors ousted the Hitmen in seven games to win their second round series while in 2008 Calgary won their first round series in six games.

BOB CLARKE TROPHY: Hitmen forward Brandon Kozun won the Bob Clarke Trophy this season awarded to the player with the most points in the WHL. Kozun finished with 107 becoming just the third player in franchise history to receive the honor. Brad Moran won the WHL scoring race in 1999/2000 while Pavel Brendl captured the award in 1998/99.

RECORD BREAKING GOAL: Michael Stone's 20th goal of the season Friday night against Edmonton set a new franchise record for most 20 goal scorers on one team with eight. The previous mark of seven was set last season.

SECOND ALL TIME: The Hitmen scored 108 powerplay goals this season. That is second only in franchise history to last year's 116 goals.

DID YOU KNOW? Calgary has clinched the Central Division title for the third straight season and their 13th consecutive playoff birth.

100 POINTS: For the fifth time in franchise history the Hitmen broke the 100 point plateau. 2009/10 (107pts) 2008/09 (122pts), 1999/2000 (120pts), 1998/99 (110pts), 2005/06 (101pts).

D-FENCE: The Hitmen allowed the fewest goals in the Eastern Conference this season at 178. That's also second fewest in the WHL. Only Everett (175) surrendered less.

SPECIAL TEAMS: Calgary had both the #1 ranked powerplay and the #1 ranked penalty kill in the WHL this season. Calgary has only given up two powerplay goals on the opposition's last 48 chances. Meanwhile the powerplay is 16 for its last 25 (64%).

HALL OF FAMER: Hitmen General Manager Kelly Kisio will be inducted into the Wetaskiwin and County Sports Hall of Fame on March 27th. He will go in as an athlete for his 13 year NHL career. Earlier this season Kisio reached an exclusive milestone with the Hitmen, his 500th victory as General Manager.

STREAKIN: Michael Stone (6g 6a) is on a seven game point streak. Matt MacKenzie (1g 6a) has points in six straight. Brandon Kozun (2g 20a) has points in 10 of his last 11. Tyler Shattock (2g 6a) and Kris Foucault (5g 4a) are both on five game point streaks. Martin Jones is 8-0 in his last eight starts with three shutouts, stopping 207 of 214 shots for a 0.875 goals-against average and remarkable .967 save percentage. Michael Snider is 4-0 in his last four starts with a 1.75 GAA and a .912 save percentage stopping 76 of 83 shots.

NHL DRAFT RANKINGS: Two Hitmen have cracked NHL Central Scouting's Mid Term Rankings for the 2010 Entry Draft. Matt MacKenzie is #85 among North American Skaters while Cody Beach is ranked 181. The NHL Entry Draft will be held at the Staples Centre in Los Angeles from June 25 to 26.

BEATTIE HOMES HOCKEY MUMS FIGHT BREAST CANCER: The Calgary Hitmen Hockey Club is proud to announce the Beattie Homes Hockey Mums Fight Breast Cancer Campaign raised $22,151.20 with all funds to be donated to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation. Money was collected from an online Hitmen game worn jersey auction, skate-a-thon, Great Clips head shave, sale of pink teddy bears along with Booster Club and Fan Attic merchandise sales. Ten Hitmen players Kyle Aschim, Del Cowan, Tyler Fiddler, Justin Kirsch, Peter Kosterman Matt MacKenzie, Jaynen Rissling, MacKenzie Royer, Ian Schultz and Ben Wilson played a large role in this great cause by having their head shaved.
