Wednesday, March 10th Regina Pats 3 Saskatoon Blades 2

The Pats continue a late season run with their 4th win in 5 games with a 3-2 win Wednesday night in Saskatoon. Jordan Eberle picked up a pair of goals while Myles Bell scored the game winner and added an assist. Dawson Guhle stopped 33 of 35 shots for his 2nd straight win over the Blades. The Pats finish the season series with Saskatoon with a 4-3-0-1 mark

Friday, March 12th Brandon Wheat Kings 9 Regina Pats 3

The Wheat Kings dominance of the Pats continued with a 9-3 Brandon win at the Brandt Centre. Matt Calvert lead the charge with 3 goals and 2 assists, while every Wheat King player registered a plus on the night.

Saturday, March 13th Brandon Wheat Kings 3 Regina Pats 1

The final game of the regular season was a dandy, but it ended up in a 3-1 Pats loss in Brandon. Jordan Eberle was able to notch his 50th goal of the season in just 57 games. Dawson Guhle was solid between the pipes with a 37 save performance in the loss

Just the Facts:

Defensive Scoring:

The Pats had three defencemen in the team's top ten. Colten Teubert finished with the team lead with 40 points; Brandon Davidson had 33 while Cody Carlson had 32.

Race for the Goal Title:

Jordan Eberle finished second in the WHL goal scoring race with 50, two goals behind the Spokane Chiefs Kyle Beach. Eberle finished in a tie for second in power play with the Chiefs Justin Feser with 19.

Race for the Assist Title:

17 year old forward, Jordan Weal finished 2nd in the WHL's assist race with 67, trailing Calgary's Brandon Kozun by 8 helpers.

Rookie Scoring Race:

It was a furious race to the end, but it ended up with both defenceman Brandon Davidson and forward Hampus Gustafsson tied at 31 points apiece. Hampus lead rookie goal scorers with 14, while Davidson was the rookie and team leader in plus/minus with a +15

2 Hit the Century Mark:

With Jordan Eberle and Jordan Weal hitting the 100 point mark this is the first time since the 1995-96 season that a pair of Regina Pats have hit the century mark. That year, Josh Holden had 112 points and Rhett Gordon picked up 103.

If it was any other season:

The Pats current mark of 67 points is not enough to make the playoffs this season, but in 8 of the previous 10 seasons, 67 points would have been enough to make the playoffs in the Eastern Conference.

The 2 Regina Pats were in the hunt for the Bob Clarke Trophy, which goes to the league's top scorer. Both Eberle and Weal hit 100 points for the first time since Ronald Petrovicky did the trick in 1997-98 with 113 points (Blake Evans scored 102 points in 2000-01, but 59 were with the Tri-City Americans). The last Regina Pat to lead the league in scoring was Dale Derkatch in 1982-83 with 179 points. Brandon Kozun picked up four points last night to win the scoring title.
