Wranglers Deal Gerard Miller and Chris Korchinski

Las Vegas, NV - The Las Vegas Wranglers® announced today that forward Chris Korchinski has been traded to the Elmira Jackals for defenseman Chris St. Croix (pronounced - Saint KROY). The team also announced that defenseman Gerard Miller has been traded to the Reading Royals for considerations. Las Vegas will play at Utah on Friday and Saturday at 6:05 pm (PST).

St. Croix is expected to join the team in time to make his debut on Friday night at Utah. The 28-year old defenseman played in eight games with Elmira this season, registering a goal and two assists for three points. The 6-foot-3, 200-pounder also played in two games with the AHL's Iowa Chops this year. St. Croix enters his tenth season of professional hockey with stops in the AHL, ECHL and Europe. In all, the Voorhees, NJ native has played in 540 professional games, scoring 64 goals and adding 178 assists for 242 points.

St. Croix was originally drafted by the Calgary Flames in the fourth round (#92 overall) of the 1997 NHL Entry Draft. He spent two seasons with the Flames old AHL affiliate in Saint John. St. Croix had his best offensive season in 2002-03 with the ECHL's Columbia Inferno. In 56 games with Columbia, St. Croix scored 13 goals and added 36 assists for 49 points.

Chris Korchinski played in nine games for Las Vegas, scoring two goals and adding one assist for three points. Defenseman Gerard Miller played in nine games for the Wranglers dishing out four assists and a +7 rating.

The team activated center Adam Miller off the three-day injured reserve list and placed goalie Kevin Lalande on the three-day injured reserve. Lalande was assigned along with defenseman Gord Baldwin on Tuesday from the NHL's Calgary Flames. Both players were injured in training camp with Calgary and are with Las Vegas on a conditioning assignment.
