Beloit Sky Carp News Release

The Beloit Snappers just got a lot faster. The Minnesota Twins have sent speedy outfielder and 2007 first round pick Ben Revere to the Snappers along with right handed pitchers Santos Eduardo Arias and Bradley Tippett.

Ben Revere was the 28th overall pick in the '07 draft out of Lexington Catholic High School in Kentucky. Last season for the GCL Twins, Revere hit .325 with 10 triples and 46 runs scored. Ben also swiped 21 bags to go along with his .388 on-base percentage.

Santos Eduardo Arias comes to Beloit after spending last season with the GCL Twins. Arias posted a 3-4 record and a 2.96 ERA. He also struck out 46 batters while only walking 13. Arias signed as a non-drafted free agent with the Twins on February 9, 2005.

Bradley Tippett signed with the Twins as a non-drafted free agent back on January 4th, 2006. Last season with Elizabethton, Tippett sported a 7-1 record and a minuscule 0.93 ERA in 38.2 innings pitched. His seven wins tied him for second in the Appalachian League.

To make room for the newcomers, infielder Deibinson Romero and right handed pitcher Michael McCardell were placed on the disabled list. Reliever Dominique Rodgers has also been released by the Minnesota Twins.

Romero's heading to the disabled listed with a left knee injury, retroactive to April 24th while McCardell heads to the DL with a right elbow injury, retroactive to April 25th.

Deibinson is hitting .214 with one home run and seven RBIs in 17 games played so far this season. Michael McCardell is 0-1 with a 2.53 ERA and 24 strikeouts in 21.1 innings pitched this year.

The moves leave the Snappers active roster at 25.
