Zephyrs Win in Extra Innings 3-2

Oklahoma City, OK - Robert Andino drilled a solo home run to lead off the tenth inning and the New Orleans held off a late Oklahoma City Dodgers rally to win 3-2 and take game one of the series.

The Zephyrs grabbed the lead early with a two run home run from Xavier Scruggs in the second inning. Oklahoma City answered with a Corey Brown solo home run in the bottom of the second inning.

The Dodgers tied the game with a bases loaded single for Elian Herrera in the eighth inning. The Dodgers tried to take the lead on the single but Kenny Wilson made a perfect throw to retire Alex Hassan at the plate.

In the tenth Andino led the inning off with the home run. In the bottom of the inning the Dodgers worked three walks to load the bases.  Herrera hit a hard shot to second base, the ball ricochet off Austin Nola and Robert Andino got the force at second base to end the game.

The Zephyrs struck-out 13 times and New Orleans pitchers walked a season high ten batters in the game.

The Zephyrs have won six of seven and improve to 12-11 on the season.

GAME NOTES

The Miami Marlins assigned pitcher Cody Ege to the Zephyrs, he will join the roster on Tuesday.

The Zephyrs are 3-0 in extra-inning games.  All three contests have been ten innings.

ON DECK

The Zephyrs continue the eight game trip against the Oklahoma City Dodgers on Tuesday at 7:05pm. The Zephyrs will start Jarred Cosart against Jose DeLeon. The game will be broadcast on WODT Fox Sports 1280 AM and streamed at iHeart Radio App.

The Zephyrs next home game will be Tuesday, May 10th against Colorado Springs. The Z's will be home for a four game series.
