Zephyrs Make It 4 in a Row, Win 2-0 in OKC

Oklahoma City, OK - Dan Black belted a two run pinch hit double off the wall in the seventh inning and three Zephyrs pitchers combine to shut-out the Oklahoma City Dodgers 2-0. The win is the Zephyrs fourth consecutive and the team has won seven of its last eight games.

Jarred Cosart worked six innings scattered six hits and earned his first Triple- A win since 2013 while pitching for Oklahoma City. Andre Rienzo worked an inning and two thirds and Eric Jokisch retired the final four batters for the save. It was Jokisch first save since he was pitching in Class A in 2011.

The Zephyrs were out-hit seven to four in the game but made the most of a seventh inning opportunity. Issac Galloway led off the inning with a single, stole second base and with two outs Elliot Soto worked a walk. Black belted the double off the wall for his second pinch hit of the season.

The shut-out is the third of the season pitched by the Zephyrs.

The Zephyrs offense struck-out 13 times for the second consecutive game, but managed to win both contests.

The Zephyrs improved to 13-11 on the season.

GAME NOTES

The Miami Marlins promoted pitcher Nefi Ogando from the Zephyrs and assigned Cody Ege to the Zephyrs.

The save by Jokisch is the ninth of the season by the Zephyrs and by the seventh different pitcher.

Former Tulane infielder Rob Segedin was hitless in the game snapping a fourteen game hit steak for the Dodgers.

ON DECK

The Zephyrs continue the eight game trip against the Oklahoma City Dodgers on Wednesday at 11:05pm. The Zephyrs will start Dylan Axelrod against Jose Urias. The game will be broadcast on WODT Fox Sports 1280 AM and streamed at iHeart Radio App.

The Zephyrs next home game will be Tuesday, May 10th against Colorado Springs. The Z's will be home for a four game series.
