Zephyrs Drop Three of Four in Reno

RENO, Nevada - The Reno Aces scored a pair of runs in the first and second innings and held on to defeat the New Orleans Zephyrs 7-4 at Aces Ballpark in Reno. Z's scored first when Gil Velazquez reached on a single and scored on a Scott Cousins double. The Aces answered with two runs in the bottom of first and two in the second inning. Reno native Scott Cousins homered in the fourth inning to pull the Zephyrs within two runs. The Z's threatened several times and left seven men on base. Joe Martinez earned the victory pitching six innings allowing three runs on eight hits. Z's starter Brad Hand suffered the defeat allowing five runs on six hits. Chase Lambin drilled a solo home run in the ninth inning. The Zephyrs dropped six of eight on the road-trip and return home Friday night.
