
X's Win Third Straight Over Fargo

Sioux City-----The Sioux City Explorers chalked up their third straight win here Monday with an 8-7 win over Fargo/Moorhead before a crowd of 3,202 at Lewis and Clark Park.
Derek Schermerhorn's double in the seventh inning scored T.J. Bohn with what proved to be the winning run. It was Schermerhorn's fourth hit of the game. Kent Sakamoto also had a big night with two doubles and he had five RBI's. Eddie Delacruz pitched the final 2 2/3 innings to pick up his third win of the season.
With the win, the Explorers remain six games behind first place Gary-Southshore in the Central Division of the American Association as Gary also won Monday. The loss was the seventh straight for Fargo/Moorhead.
The final game of the four-game series between the Explorers and RedHawks will be played Tuesday at Lewis and Clark Park. Game time will be 7:05 as the X's look to sweep the Redhawks.
