
Wranglers\' Fall to Falcons 4-2

Las Vegas, NV â The Las Vegas Wranglers (16-13-4, 36 points) fell to the Fresno Falcons (17-13-4, 38 points) 4-2 in front of 4,098 fans at the Orleans Arena. Falcons' goaltender Jamie Hodson made 38 saves for the Falcons picking up his eighth win of the season. Forwards Derek Krestanovich and Sam Ftorek each added two assists for Fresno. Center Jeff Attard and defenseman Ryan Gaucher each scored for Las Vegas in the loss. The Wranglers return to the Orleans Arena Thursday January 13th, to face the San Diego Gulls at 7:05 pm.
In the first period, Shaun Sutter scored for Fresno to give the Falcons the 1-0 lead. Fresno's Jan Sochor made it a 2-0 game with his sixth goal at 11:47 of the opening period.
In the second period, Fresno defenseman Dustin Vanballegooie scored the third goal of the game, giving the Falcons a3-0 lead. The Wranglers got on the board at 11:11 of the second period when Jeff Attard tallied a shorthanded goal for Las Vegas.
In the third, Ryan Gaucher scored late in the game to bring the Wranglers to within one goal at 3-2. Gaucher's sixth goal of the season came with only 1:44 remaining in regulation. Fresno forward Jason Weaver scored an empty-net goal to seal the Falcons victory with ten seconds remaining at 4-2.
Thursday, San Diego makes a return to the Orleans and Friday Victoria will visit the Wranglers. "Reggy" the mascot will join "The Duke" on Friday, January 14th at 7:05 pm.
