Wranglers' Centomo Named Reebok Hockey ECHL Saver of the Week

PRINCETON, N.J. - Sebastien Centomo is the Reebok Hockey ECHL Saver of the Week for January 3-9.

Under contract to Calgary of the National Hockey League, the 6-1 and 196-pound Centomo went 2-0-0 with a shutout, a 1.50 goals-against average and a save percentage of .951 as Las Vegas went 3-0-0. Centomo earned his second shutout of the season on January 7, stopping all 29 shots he faced in a 3-0 win against Peoria, which entered the game with a 5-0-1 record against the West Division. Making his second start in as many nights against the Rivermen, Centomo made 29 saves in a 4-3 win on January 8 as Las Vegas won its fifth consecutive game.

In his first season with the Wranglers, the 23-year-old Centomo is 9-5-2, including a 5-3-2 record in one-goal games, with a goals-against average of 2.37 and a save percentage of .937. He began his professional career in 2001-02 with Memphis of the Central Hockey League and St. John's of the American Hockey League while also playing one game in the National Hockey League with Toronto. He played in 2002-03 with Greensboro of the ECHL and St. John's before spending the 2003-04 season in St. John's where he was 13-17-4 with a goals-against average of 3.15 and a save percentage of .904.

Prior to turning professional, the Laval, Quebec native played in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, going 63-40-11 in three seasons with the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies.

Runners Up: Randy Petruk, Bakersfield (2 gp, 2-0-0, 1.92 GAA, .922 save pct.) and Scott Fankhouser, Toledo (4 gp, 3-1-0, 1.50 GAA, .949 save pct.).
