Louisiana IceGators News Release

Lafayette, LA – The Louisiana IceGators today announced, in conjunction with radio station 97.3 "The Dawg", that two tickets to the 2005 Daytona 500 will be given away this Friday as part of NASCAR Night when the Gators host the Mississippi Sea Wolves at 7:05pm.

In addition to the Daytona 500 ticket giveaway, special events are planned for the Friday night contest. Dale Earnhardt Jr.'s #8 car will be on display throughout the game. The team will provide an opportunity to take an up close picture with the car for $10 dollars. Net proceeds from the photos will benefit St. Jude's Children's Hospital.

The IceGators will wear special Nascar Night jerseys sponsored by J&L Serivices. The jerseys will be auctioned off after the game. The winners of each jersey will receive their prize right off the back of the player who wore the jersey during the game. Home Depot will sponsor special in between period contests, along with special "NASCAR Prize Packs".

" NASCAR Night has been in the works for many months and we are looking forward to a great night of entertainment for fans of both hockey and auto racing," said Bruce LeVine, the IceGators Vice President of Communications. " " This is our only home game for the month and we believe this night will be talked about for a long time."

Individual game tickets for NASCAR Night on January 14 and all regular season home games are on sale now. Tickets are available at the Cajundome Box Office, and all TicketMaster outlets and online at www.ticketmaster.com. For more information call the IceGators office at (337) 234-4423.
