Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies News Release
ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. - The Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies of the ECHL, a proud affiliate of the New York Islanders, have announced that defenseman Vince Macri has been recalled to Bridgeport of the American Hockey League. This is Macri's second stint with the Bullies AHL affiliate in the last month.
Macri, 23, is tied with Brian Fahey and Dan Peters for the scoring lead among Bullies defensemen with four goals and 11 points through 27 games. The Durham, NH native was assigned by Bridgeport on October 13 before being recalled on December 14. Macri played in six games with the Sound Tigers without recording a point before being assigned to Atlantic City on January 3.
Macri signed with the New York Islanders on August 30 and participated at training camp with the Sound Tigers after completing a four-year collegiate career at Brown University last season. Macri posted career-highs in 2003-04 with 6 goals and 15 points to co-lead all Bears defensemen in scoring. His 15 points also ranked 14th among all ECAC defensemen. After completing his collegiate career in March, Macri played three games for Bridgeport at the end of the 2004 season and notched 1 assist.
Macri joins defenseman Brian Fahey in Worcester and goaltender Adam Munro in Norfolk as current Bullies in the AHL.
