March 20, 2009 - ECHL (ECHL)
Las Vegas Wranglers News Release
Las Vegas, NV - The Las Vegas Wranglers announced today that center Adam Miller has been loaned to the Milwaukee Admirals of the American Hockey League. The team also announced that rookie defenseman Mat Robinson has signed an Amateur Tryout Agreement (ATO).
Miller returns to Milwaukee, where he played in seven games and scored his first AHL goal in February. Despite playing in only 49 games for Las Vegas, Miller is among the team leaders in scoring. The rookie center ranks fourth in points with 41 and third in assists with 29. The Michigan native attended training camp with the AHL's Binghamton Senators in 2008.
Miller returned to Las Vegas after finishing the 2007-08 regular season and the 2008 Kelly Cup Playoffs with the Wranglers. In the final nine games of the regular season, Miller scored three times and set up five others for eight points. Miller excelled in the playoffs, posting 12 assists and 16 points in 20 Kelly Cup Playoff contests. The rookie center placed second overall in playoff plus-minus with a +13. His 16 playoffs points finished tied for tenth in the ECHL.
Prior to joining the Wranglers, the Livonia, MI native spent four years at Ferris State University. In 146 games with the Bulldogs, the 23-year old scored 30 goals and added 47 assists for 77 points.
Rookie defenseman Mat Robinson is expected to make his pro debut tonight after signing an ATO earlier in the day. Robinson played the last four years at the University of Alaska-Anchorage. In 143 games with the Seawolves, Robinson scored nine goals and added 35 assists for 44 points.
The Wranglers also activated left wing Shawn Limpright, who missed the last 14 games with an injury.
The Wranglers will host the Ontario Reign at 7:30 PM tonight at Orleans Arena. The Wranglers will also host the Alaska Aces on Saturday, March 21st at 7:30 PM. The first 2,000 fans receive a Wranglers trading card set, sponsored by Studio Blue.
Pro-rated 2008-09 season seat packages are on sale now at (702) 471-PUCK. The Wranglers play all 36 regular season home games at the Orleans Arena, located at the Orleans Hotel and Casino at 4500 W. Tropicana Avenue. Individual game tickets are on sale now at (702) 284-7777.
