Florida Everblades News Release
ESTERO, FL - Florida Everblades president and general manager Craig Brush along with head coach Malcolm Cameron announced today that defenseman Dominic D'Amour has been recalled by the Albany River Rats of the American Hockey League and that the team has signed rookie defensemen Matt Duffy and Zack Fenwick.
D'Amour becomes the second Everblade in as many days to be recalled to the AHL, joining Brad Zanon who was recalled to Milwaukee yesterday. D'Amour heads to the AHL for the second time this season after seeing action in ten games with the Philadelphia Phamtoms in November. The 25-year-old has played in 10 games with the Everblades notching two assists since being acquired in a trade with the Dayton Bombers. The Lasalle, Quebec native began the season by playing in 33 games with the Bombers where he recorded 22 points (8g, 14a) and 68 penalty minutes.
To account for the call-ups the Everblades also today announced that Duffy and Fenwick have been added. Duffy joins the Everblades after wrapping up a four-year collegiate career at the University of Maine. The Windham, Maine native put together his best season of his collegiate career in his senior year, scoring 17 points (7g, 10a) in 39 games. Overall the 6-foot-2, 200 pound former 4th round draft pick of the Florida Panthers in 2005 notched 43 points (21g, 22a) in 135 career games from 2005-09 at Maine.
Fenwick signs with the Everblades after skating at the junior level with the Kingston Frontenacs of the Ontario Hockey League this season. The 19-year-old rookie finished the season with nine points (3g, 6a) in 52 games with Kingston. The Toronto, Ontario native split the 2007-08 season between Mercyhurst College and Kingston. The 6-foot-2, 207 pound blue liner played just four games at Mercyhurst before finishing off the season with the Frontenacs where he posted nine points in 38 games.
