May One Second Shy Of Record

Utah rookie Tom May scored a goal seven seconds into the first period at Stockton on Thursday, one second shy of the league record for Fastest Goal From Start Of A Game held by Glenn Clark of Louisville, who scored six seconds into the game against Johnstown on Mar. 11, 1994. May registered a natural hat trick with goals at 6:18 and 7:39 of the first period and added a career-high fourth goal at 18:50 of the third to finish with a career-best four points.

Peter Laviolette, who began his coaching career with the Wheeling Nailers, led Carolina Hurricanes to the Stanley Cup in 2006.
