Steelheads shutout Victoria, 2-0

Victoria, BC- The Idaho Steelheads (37-22-4) fell to the Victoria Salmon Kings (35-24-7) for the first time this season by a 2-0 score in front of 5,601 fans at the Save-On Foods Memorial Centre.

In the first two periods, two goals from Victoria's Brady Leavold made the difference, as the Salmon Kings went into the third period with a 2-0 lead and a 23-9 lead in the shots category.

Todd Ford pitched a perfect third period to preserve the shutout for Victoria; Ford's record improved to 16-13-1 as he stopped all 22 shots he saw.

Matt Climie stopped 28 of 30 shots for Idaho; his record fell to 23-12-1.

The Steelheads and Salmon Kings are back in action again on Saturday night.
