Wranglers End Streak, Edge Aces 2-1 for Win

Anchorage, AK - The Las Vegas Wranglers (27-24-8, 62 Points) defeated the Alaska Aces (34-21-3, 71 points) 2-1 on Friday night at Sullivan Arena. Forwards Kelly Czuy and Chris Ferraro each scored as the Wranglers snapped a ten-game winless skid (0-6-4). Las Vegas goalie Glenn Fisher (7-3-1) made 24 saves in the win. Alaska goalie J.P. Lamouruex stopped 24 Las Vegas shots in the defeat. The Wranglers will play again at 8:15 PM (PST) on Saturday night in Anchorage.

Las Vegas opened the scoring with Kelly Czuy giving the Wranglers a 1-0 lead at 11:13 of the first period. Right wing Peter Ferraro set up Czuy's sixth goal of the season, beating Alaska goalie J.P. Lamoureux blocker side.

With a five-minute major power play, the Aces tied the game on Colin Hemingway's 20th goal of the season at 8:16 of the second period. Hemingway beat Las Vegas goalie Glenn Fisher on a feed from defenseman Matt Shasby, tying the game 1-1. Las Vegas answered back with a slap shot by center Chris Ferraro at 15:15. Ferraro ripped a blast past Alaska's J. P. Lamoureux for his 19th goal of the season and a 2-1 Las Vegas lead after two periods of play.

Prior to the game, Las Vegas added two forwards, local Las Vegan Micah Sanford and rookie Ray Leroux. Both players made their pro debuts on Friday night.

The Wranglers finish a ten-game road trip with two more games in Alaska on Saturday at 8:15 PM (PST) and Sunday night at 6:05 PM (PST). Las Vegas returns home to host the Idaho Steelheads on March 13th and 14th at 7:30 PM at the Orleans Arena.
