Johnstown's Penner Suspended Two Games, Fined

PRINCETON, N.J. - The ECHL announced that it has suspended Johnstown forward Alex Penner for two games and fined him an undisclosed amount as a result of his actions in ECHL Game #673 at Wheeling on Mar. 6.

Penner was assessed a Match Penalty under Rule 21.1 Deliberate Attempt To Injure at 18:13 of the third period.

He is automatically suspended for one game and fined as a result of the Match Penalty and is suspended one game under Rule 29 Supplemental Discipline.

Under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the ECHL and the Professional Hockey Players' Association, player fines collected by the ECHL are given to the PHPA for its ECHL Player's Hardship Fund.

Penner will miss Johnstown's games at Wheeling (Mar. 7) and vs. Elmira (Mar. 8).
