
Wranglers Bit By Grizzlies, 4-1

Salt Lake City, UT - The Las Vegas Wranglers© (18-21-4, 40 Points) were defeated by the Utah Grizzlies (19-19-4, 42 Points) 4-1 in front of 2,900 fans Monday night at The E-Center. Forward Tony Romano led the way for the Grizzlies with one goal and two assists as Utah improve to 12-11-2 at home this season. Utah forwards Vlady Nikiforov, A.J. Perry, and Lance Galbraith each added a goal and one assist in the win. Grizzleis goalie Beau Erickson stopped 25 shots to improve to 5-5-1 this season. Rookie forward Andrew Orpik tallied the lone Las Vegas goal. Wranglers goalie Michael Ouzas stopped 31 of 35 shots to move to 15-17-2 this season. The Wranglers return home to take on the Idaho Steelheads Thursday, February 4th, at 7:05 p.m. at the Orleans Arena.
Utah opened the scoring 11:50 into the first period with a goal from forward A.J. Perry. Just 26-seconds later, Las Vegas pulled even with a tally from forward Andrew Orpik. Forwards Adam Miller and Ned Lukacevic set up Orpik's seventh goal of the season to tie the game at 1-1. At 17:03, Utah winger Vlady Nikiforov gave the Grizzlies the lead with his ninth goal of the season. Forwards Lance Galbraith and Tony Romano set up Nikiforov to give Utah the 2-1 lead headed into the first intermission.
Utah extended the lead midway through the middle period, with a tally from Galbraith at 10:13. Galbraith's fifth goal of the season gave the Grizzlies the 3-1 lead. At 11:56, the Grizzlies struck again with a goal from Tony Romano. Romano tallied his fourth goal of the year on the power play to extend the Utah lead to 4-1.
In the third period, the Grizzlies held the Wranglers to just eight shots on goal, holding their lead for the 4-1 victory.
