Everblades Win Streak Halted By Devils This Week

The Florida Everblades finished off five-straight at home this week with three games against the Trenton Devils. The Devils got revenge against the 'Blades for two defeats they suffered in Trenton two weeks ago. Trenton edged Florida 2-1 on Wednesday night and also doubled up the 'Blades on Saturday, 6-3. Florida's lone win came on Friday night, 5-4.

The Everblades play just two games this week, both on the road in Charlotte, North Carolina. The Everblades will then play five games in six days the following week. Thursday's game in Charlotte marks the first of seven straight games against South Division opponents.

LAST WEEK

Wednesday, January 27 vs Trenton Germain Arena 7:30PM

GAME NOTES: Florida's five-game win streak was halted on Wednesday night in Germain Arena by the Trenton Devils, 2-1. The victory was the first for the Devils over the Everblades in three tries. Ryan Ginand and Tony Zancanaro accounted for the Devils' goals, while Florida's lone tally came with just over three minutes left in the contest by Mike Bayrack. Gerald Coleman got the win in net for Trenton.

Friday, January 29 vs Trenton Germain Arena 7:30PM

GAME NOTES: Florida responded with a victory over Trenton on Friday night. In their second regular season matchup ever in Germain Arena, the Everblades skated away with a 5-4 decision. Milan Gajic led the way with two goals and an assist and defenseman Phil Paquet scored his professional goal and recorded his first multiple-point effort (1g, 1a). Mike Bayrack chipped in two assists and finished +3 for the game. Chris Beckford-Tseu stopped 38 of 42 shots to record his fifth win of the season.

Saturday, January 30 vs Trenton Germain Arena 7:30PM

GAME NOTES: Trenton rebounded on Saturday to record their second win over Florida in four days. The Devils were led by Ryan Ginand who tallied a hat trick and an assist in the 6-3 win. Defenseman Andy Thomas chipped in two assists and finished +4 in the contest. David Caruso stopped 33 shots between the pipes for the Devils. Milan Gajic recorded his second multiple-goal game (2g) in back-to-back nights.

THIS WEEK

Thursday, February 4 @ Charlotte Time Warner Cable Arena 7:00PM

GAME NOTES: This is the eighth game of 14 regular season meetings between the Everblades and Checkers. Florida shutout the Checkers 3-0 in their last meeting in Charlotte on December 26. Mike Morrison stopped 28 shots to record his first and only shutout of the season. Matthew Pistilli, Ross Carlson and Paul Healey all scored goals in the victory.

Friday, February 5 @ Charlotte Time Warner Cable Arena 7:00PM

GAME NOTES: This game marks the fourth meeting of seven scheduled outings in Charlotte. The Everblades have outscored the Checkers 13-4 in Charlotte and posted two shutouts in Charlotte's Time Warner Cable Arena. Overall, the Everblades are 3-3-1 versus the Checkers this season.

Beckford-Tseu appeared in his first two games with Florida since January 8. On Friday night Beckford-Tseu recorded his fifth victory in of the season stopping 38 of 42 shots. The next night he stopped 24 of 30 shots in the Everblades 6-3 loss on Saturday.
