Ben Gordon Loaned To Abbotsford Heat

Reading, PA - The Reading Royals of the ECHL, affiliate of the Toronto Maple Leafs and Boston Bruins of the National Hockey League and the Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League, today announced that forward Ben Gordon has been loaned to the Abbotsford Heat of the AHL. This marks the third call up of the season for Gordon, a second year pro from International Falls, Minnesota. Gordon was loaned to the Providence Bruins on October 22, 2009 and played two games for the Bruins without registering any points before being returned to Reading. On December 27, 2009, Gordon was loaned to the Toronto Marlies where he played seven games, scoring two goals and adding two assists, before being returned to the Royals. In 38 games with Reading this season, Gordon has scored 19 goals and added 31 assists (50 points) and played to a plus-11. Gordon is the first player in Royals team history to be loaned to Abbotsford.

The Royals are off until Friday night (February 5, 2010 @ 7:00 pm) when the team travels to the Sun National Bank Center in Trenton, New Jersey, where they'll face the Trenton Devils for the ninth time this season. The Royals game night broadcast on the Royals Radio Network presented by Transmissions by Arbogast will kick off with the pre-game warm-up show at 6:30 pm.
